NICE meets every Friday except during Bavarian school holidays and occasionally other dates when the facility is needed. Date cancellations and location changes are posted and notifications are sent out to members via email and our Facebook internal page. During the month of July, NICE members are encouraged to plan extra activities, i.e. mini golf, beer garden, park, etc. instead of meeting at the kindergarten. Please volunteer to organize a Friday event if you know of something.
Classes are from 4:15pm to 5:30pm. The facility is usually open for socialization until 6:00 pm, but after 5:30 pm you are responsible for your child(ren). Weather permitting; your child may play in the garden after class, provided you supervise your child at all times.
Yes, house shoes, slippers or thick socks are required in all classrooms. It is also a good idea to pack a cloth bag with a pencil case including regular and colored pencils, scissors, stick glue.
There are a few important rules which we will need you to follow:
  • NICE members and visitors are NOT allowed to enter the facility before 4:00 pm! If you arrive earlier, please refrain from standing around in the parking lot and wait to the right of the facility entrance. Please do not block the doors to the kindergarten. We must remember to be courteous to parents of the kindergarten who are trying to depart with their children. Someone will let us know when we can enter the building.
  • For the benefit of your child and the other children in the class, please be on time. Late arrivals disturb the whole group and make it difficult for children and teachers to concentrate.
  • Regular attendance is very important for the children to establish friendships and get the full benefit of NICE. Should your child not be able to attend class for longer than 2-3 weeks in a row, you must inform the teacher and the teacher coordinator, Anna-Lisa. Should there be a waiting list for a group, we might not be able to hold your child’s spot if we are not informed.
  • Last, but not least - no food or drinks are allowed in the classrooms. They are only permitted in the kitchen or in the garden. Make sure that your child has had a snack before arrival.
